Studio Policy
Expectations & Goals:
Group classes are a vital part of your lessons. They will be held on select Tuesday during the school year at Sojourn Community Church (SCC) and my home studio. Please see Master Calendar for exact dates and locations.
Recitals and Concerts
All recitals are held at SCC. Olympia Area Suzuki Group Concert is held at Minnaert Performing Arts Center at SPSCC unless specified otherwise.
Scheduling and Make-Up Lessons:
You are only allowed 3 make-up lesson per year. Absences due to illness and family emergencies qualify for make-up lessons. Things like sports, vacations, etc. do not qualify. For your convenience this year, all make-up days have been prescheduled. See the Master Calendar for these dates. Approximately 2-3 weeks prior to each make-up day, Rachelle Dudley will contact you via email with specific times for lessons. Scheduling is done on a first come first service basis. Respond immediately to get your desired time.
Please do not ask your instructor to make special exceptions to this policy. If necessary, we encourage you to try and switch lessons with another student if you need to reschedule a lesson that does not qualify for a make-up. Contact Rachelle for a student's contact information.
Discontinuing Lessons:
If you wish to discontinue lessons, please give a 2 week notice as there is a waiting list of students. If you fail to do this, you will be financially responsible for the remainder of the month's tuition.
Teacher Cancellation:
If I have to cancel your lesson due to my performance schedule or illness, I will give you an extra make-up or credit your tuition. Often, I will schedule an extra lesson into the next session if I have to cancel a day of lessons. Please be patient, you will get all 31 lessons by June or else a credit.
- Achieve excellent quality and enjoyment in musical performance
- Practice at least 5 days a week for 30 minutes
- Memorize assigned review pieces
- Take notes at lessons
