Studio Policy
Expectations & Goals:
- Achieve excellent technique and enjoyment in musical performance
- Practice at least 5 days a week
- Memorize assigned review pieces
- Take notes at lessons and/or video
- Listen to Suzuki or other assigned listening 5 times a week
Parent Jobs during lessons:
-Take notes and videos
- Refrain from being on your devices and quietly observe your child
-Try to speak as little as possible and allow the teacher to give all instructions and handle discipline
-Ask questions at the end of lesson, or if the teacher indicates it's a good time
Performance/Group Lessons:
Group classes and performance classes are a vital part of your music education. Please see Calendar for exact dates.
Recitals and Concerts
One Spring formal recital and other informal recitals during the year. You are encouraged to attend the Suzuki Association of Washington State Fall Festival, the last Saturday of October https://suzukiwashington.org/ and the Japan Seattle Suzuki Institutes in August. https://japanseattle.org/
Scheduling and Make-Up Lessons:
3 cancellations allowed per school year (September - 1st week of June). You will be billed AND receive a makeup credit. It is your responsibility to find a makeup spot on the Mymusicstaff.com calendar within 60 days. Summer lessons are payable week by week but require a 48-hour cancellation for no charge.
Please do not ask your instructor to make special exceptions to this policy.
Discontinuing Lessons:
If you wish to discontinue lessons, please give a 2-week notice as there is a waiting list of students. If you fail to do this, you will be financially responsible for the remainder of the month's tuition.
Teacher Cancellation:
If I have to cancel your lesson due to my performance schedule or illness, I will give you a make-up lesson or credit your tuition.
